rethink materials kollektiv

The Rethink Materials Kollektiv is an interdisciplinary and international team of building professionals from architecture and engineering with different professional backgrounds. The collective has the common goal of promoting sustainable building methods such as the reuse of building components and the use of regenerative building materials.

civil engineer

Born in 1992 in Munich, Germany. Caroline lives and works in Hamburg, where she is helping to develop the new innovative Grasbrook district as a junior project manager. With the latest knowledge regarding the use of resource-saving building materials, she is able to incorporate important parameters into the further planning process.

architect

Born in 1994 in Suresnes, France. After living in Paris and Zurich, Leonor currently lives in Strasbourg, where she teaches at the university and works as an architect on renovation and new construction projects using bio-based materials.

architect

Born in 1974 in Belgium. Joost lives and works as an independent architect in Geneva, focusing on sustainable architecture with reusable materials. Joost is also our man for socialising after work.

architect

Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1988. Patricia is currently based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where she works on rehabilitation projects. Her international work with projects and workshops in Bolivia, Tanzania and Switzerland, among others, is characterised by a great interest in the reinterpretation of traditional building techniques, local resources and participatory planning.

architect

Born in 1991 in Heiden, Switzerland. Simon lives in Zofingen and works as a project manager for an urban housing development in Zurich. He came into contact with natural materials through civilian service in Uganda and Nepal and has since deepened his knowledge through further training. With his own studio, he dedicates himself to its challenges, also in a humanitarian context.

architect

Born in 1985 in Bogota, Colombia. Juan lives and works in Switzerland. Through his practical experience, he is our expert in earth building techniques, especially rammed earth.

architect

Born in 1983 in Zurich, where she lives and works. Corinne works as an architect and construction manager. Through academic and practical training on building with clay, straw and bamboo, she has specialised in sustainable building. She is currently involved in a participatory project of a courtyard redesign of a cooperative settlement to promote biodiversity and reduce overheating.

architect

Born 1985 in Wörgl, Austria. Katharina is involved in community housing projects in Zurich and Western Austria both as an activist and as a self-employed architect, where she tries to bring in her academic background as well as her practical experience in DIY with regenerative materials.
